How internet browsing discovers unexpected results

Don’t even ask how I found this. It has a surreal dreamlike quality that appeals to my Hulk Hogan flamethrower enhanced psyche.

    How did you find that?

I was given a link from a friend at work in an instant messenger client to look at a New Pornographers music video for the song Myriad Harbor, here http://www.boingboing.net/2008/02/14/new-pornographers-my.html

Then at the bottom of the post for the video I saw the link for this video http://www.boingboing.net/2008/02/13/flying-witches-obser.html

In the comments of this video post on boing boing someone posted a link to the video you saw here.

It’s sort of a Jorge Luis Borges thing. The Garden of Forking paths.

Not very interesting, but it is interesting to sometimes see how one piece of content leads to another, by suggestive linking and content titles. Certainly I think it is probably how most people really experience the web when they are “surfing”.

    Search behavior is much different.

It’s too bad they can’t put shorts like this in front of movies at the theater like they used to do with cartoons. Better yet someone should put together a TV program made up these short videos. Why leave them on the net where only net surfers can find them?
